Arts Week 2016

This year our arts week centred around the 100th anniversary of The Battle of the Somme. Children made poppies in different formats and drew soldier portraits. Kestrels class also made charcoal drawings of ‘no man’s land’ and wrote poems and letters home. During the week, a local artist, Rachel Shilston, also worked with children to make mosaic tiles to go around our poppy in the Remembrance Garden. The inspiration for some of the art work also came from our new WWI themed bench – where there are soldier silhouettes.
