Merthyr Mawr summer 2018

On a very hot Tuesday the woodpeckers headed for the sand dunes at Merthyr Mawr. When we arrived it was like we had arrived in a desert the sand was very hot and we saw green lizards. Despite the heat we managed to climb the tallest sand dune called The Big Dipper at the top you could see for miles. After lunch we headed for Dunraven Bay where we went for a paddle in the sea which was quite warm and looked in rock pools for sea creatures. We did find limpets, star fish, crabs and anenomes. We had a wonderful day and came back very tired.
