Music at Hope Brook

Music plays a vital role at Hope Brook by supporting children's emotional expression and creativity. It enhances cognitive development, particularly in areas like memory, language, and spatial reasoning. Group music activities also foster teamwork, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Most importantly, music brings joy and energy to the school day, enriching the overall learning experience.

We have an active school choir who take part in a wide range of performances, including at local events and in services at All Saints Church, Longhope. A highlight of our year is Young Voices, which we attend with pupils from across our Multi Academy Trust and where we take part in a concert performed by over 6000 children at the NEC.

At Hope Brook, we offer private peripatetic music lessons in guitar, woodwind and piano through Gloucester Music Services.

We are very excited to be partnering with Gloucester Academy of Music  and The Old Rectory Care Home, Longhope, in the academic year 2025 - 2026 for an intergenerational music project 'Stand By Me'.
