In Year Applications for Children Currently in Reception to Year 6

How to Apply for a Place

If you move to the area during the school year or your child needs to move school for other reasons, you will need to apply for a school place by contacting the school directly using the forms below (paper copies can be obtained from the school office on request). Please apply directly to Hope Brook School as Gloucestershire County Council do not coordinate In Year Admissions for any school. Forms should be handed in to the school office emailed to admin@hopebrook.gloucs.sch.uk

If You Are Offered a Place

Once you have applied directly to Hope Brook, we will communicate with you our decision within 10-15 school days. If your application is successful, you will be sent a written offer from the school, which will include confirmation of the place offered, the date by which you must accept or declining the offer and any next next steps required (such as completing permission forms and arranging a start date). Please esnure you respond within the stated timeframe so that the place can be secured. If we do not hear from you, the offer may be withdrawn in line with the Schools Admissions Code.

If Your Application is Unsuccessful

If we are unable to offer you a place, you will receive a written refusal explaining the reason(s) why. Parents who have been refused a place at the school have a legal right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel.

Primary Quest MAT use an independent provider to manage the appeals process.

The school will:

  • notify you of the refusal
  • provide information on how to lodge an appeal

Primary Quest MAT will:

  • arrange the Independent Appeals Panel
  • provide the timetable and process for hearings

Appeals are completely independent of the school and the Local Advisory Board.
