Happy moments at Hope Brook
Sports Day 2026
We were lucky to have such good weather for sports day this year. There was an amazing atmosphere the entire day and, although quite hot, everyone tried their best. It was lovely to see so many of the older children helping and cheering on their younger friends.

Stand By Me Intergenerational Music Project
Wagtails have been privileged to participate in a wonderful music project through Gloucester Academy of Music this year. Over a term, they regularly visited the Old Rectory Care Home in Longhope and enjoyed singing and making music with the residents. As well as learning new songs and developing music skills, the children were able to learn dementia and its effects.

Young Voices 2026 at the NEC
For the school choir, the highlight of our year was taking part in Young Voices alongside 6000 other children, including over 200 children from across Primary QuEST.

Year 6 Leavers Service at Gloucester Cathedral
The year sixes gathered with children from across Gloucester Diocese for a special service to reflect on their through primary school and their next steps.

World Book Day 2026
To celebrate World Book Day 2026, the children made scenes from their favourite books inside jars or clear containers using resources they had at home. Teachers chose the best scene from each year and the winners were awarded a prize.

KS1 Nativity 2025
KS1 put on an amazing performance of the Nativity, reminding everyone what Christmas is really about.

Christmas 2025
To celebrate Christmas 2025, we did a range of fun activities including: Christmas dinner, carol singing at different nursing homes around Longhope, Christmas parties and Santa's workshop where each year group got a different book depending on their age.

Gruffalo
The whole school helped to create the Gruffalo for the scarecrow trail run by the Friends of Longhope Church. People around the village made scarcrows of characters and judges decided the winner. Everyone at Hope Brook helped to make the Gruffalo scarecrow and it was a very fun activity.

Year 3 Primary Quest trip to Eastnor Castle
The year 3 children went on a trip with Primary Quest to Eastnor Castle. They enjoyed the trip and had fun exploring the beautiful castle.
