Welcome

About Pippins Pre School

Pippins is an Early Years setting providing care and education for children age 2 to 5 years. Our aim is “to provide high quality care and education for pre-school children in a safe and caring environment, where children can build on their social, intellectual, emotional, physical and creative development”. Children are encouraged to be independent and are always encouraged to 'have a go’ first, then the adult will help them if they need it.

We are situated in the grounds of Hope Brook C of E Primary School and cater for children from the local area and beyond. We place an emphasis on 'learning through play'. Children's learning and development is supported by fully qualified staff within a stimulating environment. Children are able to experience daily activities both indoors and outdoors. These are a balance of child initiated and adult led experiences building on what the children already know.

We have close relationships with the school and the reception teacher (Mrs Stanton), regularly joining the reception class for learning opportunities and the whole school for celebrations and experience days, which helps to ensure a smooth transition into school. We are also able to use some of the school facilities such as the school playground, nature area, school field and the school hall.

Pippins follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework 2021, which sets the standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old.  The EYFS supports an integrated approach to early learning and care, it gives professionals a set of common principles and commitments to deliver quality early education and childcare experiences to all children. For more information, please see our EYFS section.

We accept 30 hour vouchers for childcare.
